PUPPY DEVELOPMENT (8-16 weeks):
A common mistake people make with their puppies
is waiting until it reaches 6 months of age before introducing
any kind of formal training. By 6 months, a young pup has
already established a lot of unwanted behaviors, and although
training can still be successfully applied, avoiding these
behaviors altogether is the better approach.
With American Alpha K9 Training you’ll learn to take advantage
of your puppy’s Critical Development Stages. Simple techniques
provided to you will help you shape your puppy into an obedient
and well rounded dog…it’s educational and fun!
Subjects covered: housebreaking – crate training – play
biting teething – early relationship development – destructive chewing – jumping – identifying early signs of aggression -
introduction into obedience commands (sit, down, come).

The best time to start training your
dog is when it's a puppy. |

LEVEL #1 (BASIC ON-LEASH OBEDIENCE):
Level #1 obedience introduces any dog and its
owner to the fundamentals of obedience training. With a strong
emphasis on proper leash control, this program will help you
establish the necessary relationship with your dog.

down/stay – heel – quiet – come – door training
– overall behavior modification and much more!
LEVEL #2 (INTERMEDIATE OBEDIENCE):
Level #2 obedience continues on where Level #1 left off. An
emphasis is put on hand commands, long-line and drop-line work
and introduces the dog to off leash commands.
Subjects covered: heel from front – sit up from a down
position – stand on command – down from front – down from motion
(stop & drop) – place (go to / stay in) – heel off leash. |

At the very least, offer your dog a
course in basic obedience so that he’ll be able to contribute to
your long lasting relationship. |

|
LEVEL #3 (OFF LEASH OBEDIENCE):
Level #3 obedience introduces dog and owner to the benefits and
enjoyments of having a dog that will respond to commands while
freely roaming around a yard or park. An emphasis is put on
administering commands while the dog is in motion; administering
commands from various distances; recalls from distractions and
blind distances. |
